Asia-Pacific mixed on interest rate decisions

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday, as the central banks of China and Japan unveiled they will be keeping interest rates unchanged in September. Meanwhile, markets in South Korea and Hong Kong are closed today due to a holiday.

Japan's Nikkei 225 was down by 0.52% at 7:13 am CET, as the dollar increased 0.28% against the yen trading for ¥109.5245 a minute later. The S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.48% at 7:14 am CET.

In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite dropped 0.54% at 7:15 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite concurrently gained 0.09%.
