AT&T reported on Thursday that its second-quarter revenue increased 7.6% compared to the same period a year prior to reach $44 billion. The figure came in above the analysts' expectations.

The company's diluted earnings per share over the same period jumped 23.5% to $0.21 from last year's figure of $0.17, while its net income soared 19.9% to $1.87 billion.

"For the fourth consecutive quarter, we saw good subscriber growth across wireless, fiber and HBO Max. Mobility delivered strong service revenue, EBITDA and postpaid phone growth," AT&T CEO John Stankey commented. "We're pleased with our performance and our momentum is strong," he added.

AT&T's stocks rose over 1% in the premarket after the announcement.
