US opens mostly higher as infrastructure bill returns to the table

United States major stock markets opened the week's trading session on Monday mostly higher after a robust performance last week, when S&P 500 recorded the best weekly gains since February, while Nasdaq celebrated the best weekly performance since April. Over the weekend US President Joe Biden brought the infrastructure bill back in focus after clarifying his intentions in regards to the criticisms received from Democrat and Republican lawmakers.

The Dow opened flat with 0.01% in the green as Salesforce advanced 1.68%, while the S&P 500 grew by 0.16% with NRG Energy jumping 2.70%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.54% led by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals gaining 2.47%.

The euro lost 0.11% against the dollar to trade for $1.19224 at 9:25 am ET.
