Most Asian stocks rise ahead of BoJ interest rate decision

Most major stock market indexes in Asia traded higher on Friday with investors awaiting the Bank of Japan's monetary policy statement and interest rate decision. The markets also reacted to Japan's consumer price data, which surprised expectations, despite the deflation rising 0.1% in May on an annual basis.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased by 0.58% at 4:06 am CET, while on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite declined by 0.2% at 4:07 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite rising by 0.58%, at the same time.

Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.34% at 4:07 am CET, while the dollar went 0.01% up against the yen, going for 110.2080 at 4:08 am CET. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 increased by 0.5% at 5:05 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite added 0.13% am CET.
