Bayer posts Q4 revenue at €9.9 billion, down 7%

Bayer AG reported on Thursday its revenue for the fourth quarter of 2020 at €9.9 billion, dropping 7% compared to the same period last year. Net income came to €308 million, a drop of 78% on a yearly basis. Core earnings per share (EPS) improved by 2.3% and totaled €1.32.

The company's revenue for the full year was reported at €41.4 billion, 4.9% less than in 2019. Net loss amounted to €10.4 billion, while core loss per share was €10.68. Bayer stated that it expects to post sales of around €42 billion to €43 billion in 2021, a rise of approximately 3%, with EPS of €6.10 to €6.30.

"Our operational strength in these turbulent times shows just how resilient our businesses are, even during the pandemic," said Werner Baumann, Chairman of the Board of Management. "We also used the past year to lay the foundation for future growth. We continued to drive forward our company’s transformation, advanced our product pipelines and invested in new technologies across all our business units."
