Deutsche Bank announced on Thursday the company's net revenue in the fourth quarter of 2020 landed at €5.5 billion, up 2% compared to the same period a year earlier. Meanwhile, full-year net revenues rose 4% to €5.524 billion, the update revealed.

The German lender beat expectations with a full-year net profit of €113 million on the back of a strong performance in its investment banking division. Net revenues from its investment bank division were up 32% to €9.3 billion euros in 2020.

"In the most important year of our transformation, we were able to more than offset transformation-related effects and elevated credit provisions – despite the global pandemic," Deutsche's CEO Christian Sewing said.
