Asia trades mixed amid Evergrande crisis, Japan data

Shares on the major stock market indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Friday as the investors closely monitored the situation regarding China's Evergrande Group and its apparent inability to service its debts. After yesterday's rise, Evergrande stocks tumbled over 7% during the session.

On the data front, Japan's consumer prices slid by 0.4% on an annual level, while the country's factory activity continued to expand in September.

The Nikkei 225 soared 2.03% at 7:15 am CET, while the S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.36% at the same time, and Hang Seng slipped 0.1%. The Kospi Composite was concurrently down by 0.14%.

The Shanghai Composite stood flat at 7:01 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite was up by 0.16% at the same time. The dollar strengthened 0.09% against the yen at 7:17 am CET and went for 110.4230.
