Shares on Wall Street were mostly higher during premarket trading on Wednesday ahead of the outcome of the Federal Reserve's latest policy meeting.

Although no changes are expected to the Fed's monetary policy, traders will be attuned to any potential clues from Chairman Jerome Powell on reducing the central bank's government bond purchases or on the inflation outlook. Meanwhile, another big day for corporate earnings was set to unfold with Pfizer, Boeing, and Facebook among other heavyweights scheduled to release their results later in the day.

The Dow Jones was flat at 4:35 am ET. At the same time, the S&P 500 gained 0.18% while the Nasdaq 100 rose 0.25%. The euro declined 0.4% compared to the greenback, going for 1.18137.
