Alphabet Inc.'s Google announced on Wednesday it will be upgrading its application Google Maps and having it show how crowded a certain public transport line is at the moment.

The application will now display if a particular line is overcrowded or not and for now cover 100 cities across the United States. Google added the option will give users a chance to avoid being in a vehicle with too many people amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Google is also testing the option to show if a certain car or train is too packed for lines operating from New York's Long Island Railroad and in Sydney, Australia.
