Google unveils new Chrome privacy features

Tuesday, 20. July 2021 19:29

Google LLC revealed a set of new privacy features on Tuesday, including simplifying the users' management of individual site permissions in its Chrome web browser.

By tapping on the lock icon on the left side of the address bar, users will be able to see and edit all permissions they have given a website, such as access to their microphones, locations and cameras. New Chrome Actions will be introduced, adding "safety check" and "manage security settings" among others to a list of typed instructions that already includes "delete history" or "edit passwords." Google will also improve the Site Isolation feature, protecting users from malicious websites, and speed up phishing detection in Chrome.

The Chrome security updates will be rolled out on Android devices in the initial phase, followed by Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS in the coming weeks.
