Asian stocks higher amid optimistic BoJ predictions

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded with gains after the Bank of Japan expressed optimism regarding the effects of the stimulus measures introduced by advanced economies.

The minutes from the bank's April monetary policy meeting forecasted that the actions taken by the world's leading economies are likely to result in a "faster than expected" pace of rebound from the crisis caused by COVID-19.

The Nikkei 225 advanced 0.11% at 4:30 am CET, while the Hang Seng jumped 0.81% at 4:34 am CET. The Kospi Composite concurrently improved by 0.44%.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was up by 0.23% at 4:20 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite advanced by 0.29% at the same time. The dollar traded 0.12% higher compared to the yen and sold for 110.7750 at 4:36 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 was the only main benchmark trading with losses, sliding 0.43% at 4:37 am CET.
