Asia-Pacific trades mostly higher, Nikkei up 3%

Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Tuesday after positive investor sentiment seemingly spilled over from the United States, where all major indexes closed with strong gains yesterday. Meanwhile, the latest developments on the Korean Peninsula made the headlines in the region.

The Nikkei 225 jumped 2.97% at 7:17 am CET. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.79% at 7:02 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index rose by 0.37% at 7:18 am CET. The Hang Seng lost 0.09% at the same time. The Kospi was up 0.72% at 7:19 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia gained 1.60% concurrently.

The dollar was 0.21% higher compared to the Japanese yen at 7:20 am CET, trading for 110.4765.
