Shares on Wall Street traded with losses in the premarket on Monday as the investors remained cautious after a tumultuous week during which the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost more than 1% amid inflation-prompted fears.

The traders focused on the latest developments on the COVID-19 front, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warned that its decision regarding the mask mandate shouldn't be viewed as a guilt-free pass for those who have not yet been vaccinated against the disease.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 0.22% or 77 points at 4:21 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 decreased 0.3% at the same time. A minute later, the S&P 500 was down by 0.19%. The euro slid 0.08% versus the dollar, selling for 1.21356 at 4:22 am ET.
