China’s antitrust regulator announced on Tuesday it has approved the $4.5 billion acquisition of Acacia Communications Inc. by Cisco Systems Inc., finalizing the process as the deal was already greenlighted by other governments.

However, China's market regulator noted that the two companies would have to continue supplying customers in China "in accordance with the principles of fairness, reasonableness and non-discrimination."

While the merging process is planned to be completed by the end of March, Acacia employees are expected to join Cisco’s Optics business after the process is complete.
