Activity in China's manufacturing sector decreased in July in comparison to the previous month, with the Purchase Managers' Index (PMI) dropping by 0.5 points to 50.4, failing expectations, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) revealed in its report published on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the non-manufacturing PMI dropped by 0.2 points month-on-month to 53.3. The Composite PMI also observed a monthly decline of 0.5 points, landing at 52.4.

The report contributed the losses to the combination of "enterprises' maintenance of their equipment" and "impact of extreme weather."
