The United States Department of Defense (DoD) plans on consulting medical professionals in order to determine whether to make the coronavirus vaccine a requirement for all military personnel, deputy Pentagon press secretary Jamal Brown said in a statement.

"The Department of Defense is moving quickly to meet President Biden's commitment to defeat COVID-19, and that includes being able to ensure every member of our civilian and military workforce is protected," the statement read.

The news comes after US President Joe Biden implored the Pentagon to take steps towards adding the COVID-19 jab to the list of mandatory vaccines for active-duty military.
