US shares continue drop, Dow down 200 pts in premarket

Shares on the major stock market benchmarks in the United States continued the prior day's slump to trade in the red in the premarket on Thursday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average losing more than 200 points.

The traders digested yesterday's reports on inflation and the record-high budget deficit but also anticipated the weekly data on the initial jobless claims, as well as April's figure for the producer prices.

The Dow Jones dropped 0.6% or 200 points at 4:19 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.31% a minute later. The S&P 500 concurrently slid 0.4%. The euro advanced 0.12% compared to the dollar, selling for 1.20859 at 4:21 am ET.
