Europe opens higher ahead of data

Major stock markets on the Old Continent opened higher on Tuesday ahead of the release of the latest report on economic sentiment in the European Union and Germany. Meanwhile, British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen talked about their countries' future cooperation. Traders will also keep an eye on the European Medicines Agency's (EMA) update on the use of AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford University's vaccine against COVID-19.

The DAX opened 0.50% higher as Volkswagen AG went up by 3.12%. The FTSE 100 advanced by 0.47%, with Pershing Square Holdings LTD grew by 2.29%. The CAC 40 rose by 0.24% as Capgemini SE increased by 1.42%.

The euro lost 0.07% to the dollar to sell for $1.19204 at 8:57 am CET. At the same time, the pound sterling declined by 0.50% against the greenback to change hands for $1.38298.
