The Dortmund police said on Tuesday that according to initial findings, they believe “serious explosive devices” were used in the blasts near the Borussia Dortmund team bus that resulted in the injury of one player.

According to the authorities, the explosions occurred as the bus was leaving the hotel to take the players to the stadium for their Champions League match against Monaco. The police stated the explosive devices “may have been hidden in a hedge near a parking area.”

Meanwhile, the DPA reported citing security authorities that there was “no indication of terrorism” in the Dortmund incident.

Following three blasts, Dortmund defender Marc Bartra sustained arm and hand injuries as shards from a broken window hit him and was taken to hospital. The team’s game against Monaco was postponed for Wednesday.
