Broadcom, SAS Institute cancel acquisition talks - report

Broadcom Inc. is no longer in talks to acquire software company SAS Institute Inc., the Wall Street Journal reported just days after the negotiations first came to light. According to people familiar with the matter, SAS heads "had a change of heart and decided not to sell to Broadcom."

The initial WSJ report claimed the deal was valued at between $15 billion and $20 billion and that it could be finalized in the coming weeks. It is currently unknown if SAS has received any other offers.
