Broadcom to acquire software firm SAS for $20 billion - report

Broadcom Inc., a United States semiconductor and infrastructure software company, is in talks over a potential acquisition of analytics software developer SAS Institute Inc., The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The valuation of the North Carolina-based tech firm was estimated between $15 billion and $20 billion, the report read, adding that the two sides are expected to finalize the deal in the coming weeks.

Broadcom's stocks jumped almost 2% after the announcement, gaining 1.94% at 11:43 am ET, and selling for $489.5.
