China to launch manned spacecraft on June 17

China Manned Space Agency Assistant Director General Ji Qiming (pictured) announced on Wednesday it will launch crewed spacecraft Shenzhou-12 at 9:22 am local time on Thursday, June 17.

The launch will be conducted via the Long March 2F carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

The three-month mission to China's Tianhe space station will include three astronauts: Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo.
