Europe higher premarket as it awaits data

Shares on major European stock markets were higher during premarket trading on Friday, as the European Union is set to release economic reports.

Traders are waiting for the EU Trade Balance of the past month, as well as the Consumer Price Index for the previous month. Meanwhile, eyes turn to Russia and its potentially retaliatory measures in response to new sanctions imposed by the United States, which the EU has stated it supports.

The DAX traded 0.22% higher at 7:30 am CET, while the FTSE 100 was up by 0.16% concurrently. The CAC 40 increased by 0.08% at 8:00 am CET.

The euro traded virtually flat against the dollar at 7:35 am CET going for 1.19666, while the pound was 0.18% down buying at 1.37625 a minute later.
