Twitter calls Trump's order reactionary and politicized

Twitter took to its social media network to condemn the executive order signed earlier by United States President Donald Trump, which is set to allow the country to hold the social networking companies accountable for content posted by the users of their platforms.

"This EO is a reactionary and politicized approach to a landmark law. #Section230 protects American innovation and freedom of expression, and it’s underpinned by democratic values. Attempts to unilaterally erode it threaten the future of online speech and Internet freedoms," the company wrote.

The presidential order comes shortly after Twitter made a decision to flag some of Trump's posts due to the alleged fraudulence of his claims, prompting the president to accuse the company of interfering in presidential elections. He went on to threaten to close all of his social media platforms, however, reminding he needs to keep his Twitter account in order to "refute fake news."
