Leaders of the United States, Australia, Japan and India held on Friday the first in-person meeting of the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (known as Quad) and discussed a wide range of topics and challenges involving the Indo-Pacific region.

Commenting about the cooperation, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison insisted that the Quad is about "demonstrating how democracies can tackle big challenges" and "get things done."

Meanwhile, outgoing Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga noted that the collaboration between the four countries will boost investments in infrastructure and clean energy, as well as promote people-to-people exchange in the spheres of science and technology.
