Chevron oil company, Delta Airlines and Google announced on Tuesday signing a memorandum of understanding in efforts to track and develop sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which is produced from biofeedstocks and could reduce carbon emissions.

Google will provide its cloud-based technology and will build an analytics framework to evaluate the incoming data from other participants of the SAF tests. Meanwhile, Chevron will be the SAF producer at its El Segundo Refinery and will sell the jet fuel to Delta Airlines.

"The companies hope to create a common, more transparent model for analyzing potential greenhouse gas emissions reductions that could then be adopted by organizations considering SAF programs," joint statement said.
