Europe ends mixed with OPEC, data in focus

European markets closed mixed on Wednesday as investors kept an eye on the OPEC+ meeting and digested an array of economic data. PMI figures showed that Europe's manufacturing sector growth slowed in August, while the unemployment rate in the euro area declined to 7.6%. Meanwhile, OPEC+ reportedly decided to boost output by 400,000 barrels per day each month until the end of the year.

The FTSE 100 added 0.42%. Just Eat led the gains as its stock soared 7.56%.

The CAC 40 jumped 1.18% with Atos surging 4.05%.

The DAX lost 0.10%. The worst performer was Continental whose shares slid 1.86%.

The euro rose 0.35% against the dollar to sell for 1.18493 at 5:31 pm CET and the pound gained 0.22% compared to the greenback at the same time to go for 1.37852.
