Google to develop own processor for Chromebook - report

Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC is working on developing processors that would run on the company's Chrome operating system for its notebook and tablet computers, likely set for release in 2023, Nikkei Asia reported citing three sources familiar with the matter.

The Big Tech giant reportedly also plans to boost efforts to build its own smartphone processors that would power its new Pixel phones.

The news comes after the company, in August, announced it intends to make its own smartphone processor, called Google Tensor, for the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones this fall, instead of relying on other chipmakers.
