The South Korean parliament could soon approve a ban on commissions Google LLC and Apple Inc. charge software developers on in-app purchases.

The amendment of the Telecommunications Business Act, which is awaiting approval by the parliamentary legislation and judiciary committee on Tuesday, would ban companies that dominate the digital market from forcing certain payment systems.

If passed by the committee today, the Korean lawmakers will vote on it tomorrow.
