US down premarket ahead of earnings

Equities on Wall Street traded lower in the premarket session on Tuesday, as investors waited for the latest batch of quarterly earnings reported to be released to better gleam how the pandemic affected businesses. General Electric, UPS, 3M, and Raytheon Tech are set to unveil their reports before markets open today, while Microsoft, Apple, and Alphabet earnings reports are set to be released after markets open.

Meanwhile, in politics, infrastructure is the main topic on Capitol Hill, with US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schummer planning a potential vote over the weekend, despite there still being some hurdles left to overcome.

The Dow Jones was down 0.46% at 4:17 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 decreased 0.21% at the same time. A minute later, the S&P 500 recorded a drop of 0.38%. The euro lost 0.26% against the dollar trading for $1.17716 at 4:19 am ET.
