WH, tech execs to discuss chip shortage on Monday

The administration of United States President Joe Biden will stage a virtual summit with chief executives of several companies, including Alphabet and Intel, on Monday to discuss the global chip shortage.

The summit will be hosted by National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and National Economic Council Director Brian Deese. Other companies participating at the event include AT&T, HP, Dell, as well as carmakers Ford and General Motors.

Earlier, reports emerged that the White House is considering introducing "stress tests" of the supply chains as a result of the semiconductor chip shortage which caused numerous tech and auto companies to delay production.
