Seoul is ready to respond to "immediately respond to and incapacitate" North Korea's military attack in case Pyongyang uses its new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM), South Korean Defense Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Moon Hong-sik said on Tuesday.

Moon added South Korea the country was able to intercept Pyongyang's missiles through its Patriot and forthcoming "M-SAM II ground-to-air missile systems."

Earlier this month, North Korea held a military parade honoring the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party, during which it presented its new ICBMs. Seoul quickly responded to the development, saying it was analyzing its northern neighbor's new weapons along with the United States.
