Asian stocks higher amid US-China trade optimism

Asian stocks traded higher in morning trade on Monday after United States President Donald Trump stated phase one of the trade deal with China will be sealed "somewhere in the US." Also, US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said that licenses for American companies to sell to Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei will be granted “very shortly.”

Markets in Japan are closed on Monday for a holiday. South Korean Kospi Composite jumped 1.30% at 4:13 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 1.36% at 4:13 am CET. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.81% at 4:14 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite climbed 1.01% at the same time. The S&P/ASX 200 was up 0.27% at 4:15 am CET.

The dollar was up 0.05% against the yen at 4:15 am CET to trade for ¥108.2250.
