Asia trades mixed amid data, N. Korea tensions

Shares on the major Asian stock market indexes traded mixed on Wednesday as the investors digested the August reports on China's retail sales and industrial output. Meanwhile, Japan, along with Seoul, accused North Korea of launching ballistic missiles into the East Sea.

In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite went up by 0.35% at 7:00 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite advanced 0.12% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped 1.21% at 7:16 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 lost 0.48% at 7:17 am CET, while the dollar declined by 0.09 against the yen, to concurrently go for 109.5960. South Korean Kospi Composite gained 0.23% at 7:18 am CET, with Australia's S&P/ASX 200 down by 0.21% at the same time.
