Report: China delays review of Nvidia-Arm deal

Friday, 30. July 2021 15:24

Chinese antitrust officials delayed their formal review of chipmaker Nvidia's planned $40 billion acquisition of Arm Holdings, The Information reported on Friday citing sources familiar with the matter.

Last year, Nvidia announced its intention to the British chip designer in the largest deal ever in the semiconductor industry. However, the deal is subject to regulatory review from China’s Ministry of Commerce and China’s State Administration for Market Regulation given that Arm has a joint venture with a Chinese private equity firm headquartered in Shanghai.

Shares of Nvidia fell 2.27% to $192.15 in premarket trading on the news.
