Delta to add 29 Boeing, 7 Airbus aircraft to bolster fleet

Delta Air Lines Inc. announced on Tuesday that it will add 29 used Boeing 737-900ERs and at least seven used Airbus A350-900s to strengthen its fleet.

According to a released statement, the move aims to "streamline and modernize" the planes that Delta owns, alongside improving fuel efficiency and "enhancing customer experience." Additionally, the company stated that this purchase will help its strategy focused on "simplification, scale, size, and sustainability."

Delta Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian commented on the development: "As we look past the pandemic, Delta’s disciplined, innovative approach to fleet renewal positions us for growth as travel demand returns, while enhancing the customer experience and supporting our sustainability commitments."
