Europe closes mixed amid inflation worries

Major stock indexes in Europe finished trading on Friday without a clear direction with concerns regarding the rising inflation, as well as potential tapering of monetary stimulus remaining in focus. Meanwhile, European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde stated that the Euro area is expected to fully rebound by Q1 2022.

The FTSE 100 increased 0.37% at the end of the session. JD Sports Fashion plc was the best performer, growing 4.56%. The DAX was 0.12% in the green as Adidas AG jumped 6.44%. The CAC 40 slid 0.12% with Airbus SE losing 1.61%.

The euro was up 0.12% against the dollar for $1.19459 at 5:29 pm CET, while the pound lost 0.10% at the same time to trade for $1.39100.
