US closes higher as Biden unveils $6 trillion budget

Major stock market indexes in the United States stood in positive territory as Friday's trading session came to a close after US President Joe Biden laid out his budget proposal worth $6 trillion. The US federal government also unveiled that it is in line with the law for the companies to require their employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the US Senate Republicans blocked the legislation meant to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the riots that took place on Capitol Hill on January 6.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.19% at the closing bell as Salesforce surged 5.43%. The Nasdaq 100 was up by 0.21% as the session came to a close with Nvidia soaring 4.88%. At the same time, the S&P 500 advanced by 0.08%. The euro was flat versus the dollar at 4:02 pm ET, selling for 1.21947.
