Deutsche Boerse may revise DAX membership rules amid Wirecard scandal

Deutsche Boerse said on Monday it is looking into the possibility of changing rules for companies to be included in its benchmark index DAX following the Wirecard accounting scandal.

"Trust in the capital markets has obviously suffered in recent days," Deutsche Boerse said in a statement.

The DAX-listed Wirecard was blocked from releasing its 2019 annual results after its auditor EY found that €1.9 billion went missing from the company's balance sheet. Wirecard has since filed for insolvency, while ex-CEO Markus Braun was arrested over the scandal but has since been released on bail.
