Europe finishes mixed amid UK parlt suspension

Major European stock markets closed mixed on Wednesday following the news that the United Kingdom's parliament will not convene until the October 14, just two weeks before the official Brexit deadline. Such developments would hinder the Labour attempts to oust British Prime Minister Boris Johnson from office and prevent UK's departure from the European Union without an agreement. Prices of oil jumped after several reports that the oil stocks in the United States plummeted, while the key bond yield curves in the world's largest economies remained inverted, sparking fears of a global economic slowdown.

The German DAX fell 0.25% shortly before the closing bell, weighed down by Infineon Technologies AG's 1.60% drop. The CAC 40 declined by 0.31%In the meantime as the Thales Group's stock price lost nearly 3% in value. In the meantime, the FTSE 100 gained 0.35%, pushed higher by mining and health sectors.

The euro lost 0.09% against the dollar to sell for 1.10812 at 5:40 pm CET, while the pound decreased by 0.42% compared to the greenback, changing hands for 1.22366 concurrently.
