Asian markets lower as earnings season continues

Stock indexes in Asia traded with losses on Thursday as the earnings season continues. Tech companies recorded increases in revenue, with PayPal, Qualcomm and eBay all reporting quarterly results. Meanwhile, the United States House passed a resolution to fast-track the $1.9 billion coronavirus stimulus package.

The Nikkei 225 lost 0.86% at 4:49 am CET, while the S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.82% at the same time. Hang Seng declined by 1.58% at 4:50 am CET. The Kospi Composite was down by 1.55% at 4:30 am CET.

The Shanghai Composite decreased by 1.02% at 4:30 am CET, and the Shenzhen Composite traded 1.44% lower at 4:46 am CET.

The dollar gained 0.07% compared to the yen and sold for 105.0960 at 4:52 am CET.
