Europe opens higher amid data, Brexit updates

Major European stock markets opened in the green on Wednesday, as the Brexit negotiations continued to near trade deal finalization. On the economic front, data from the United Kingdom showed a decline in both consumer and factory-gate inflation in November, while more data will be released from major European countries during the day.

The DAX traded 0.43% higher at the opening bell, as Continental AG moved up by 4.15% at 9:05 am CET. At the beginning of the trading session, the FTSE 100 rose by 0.31%, as International Consolidated Airlines climbed 1.92% at 9:02 am CET. The CAC 40 gained 0.38% at the trading session's start, as Arcelormittal SA grew 2.01% one minute later.

The euro stood flat against the dollar, selling for 1.21540 at 9:00 am CET. Concurrently, the pound sterling advanced by 0.27% compared to the US currency to change hands for 1.34866.
