YouTube announced on Wednesday a ban on posting coronavirus vaccine misinformation on the popular video-sharing website.

The company described misinformation as false claims that contradict health authorities such as the World Health Organization or local authorities like the United Kingdom's National Health Service, including those that suggest a COVID-19 vaccine will be used to insert microchips into people or can cause infertility.

On Tuesday, Facebook announced a similar ban on ads promoting the anti-vaccination movement.
