Biden spends more than Trump on Facebook ads

Former United States Vice President Joe Biden spent more than US President Donald Trump last week on campaign ads on Facebook, data from the tech giant showed on Monday. As Biden's vice-presidential pick, Senator Kamala Harris, was revealed, the Biden campaign spent $5.56 million on ads on the platform. During the same period, from August 10 to August 15, Harris' page spent $458,000 on Facebook ads.

Meanwhile, Trump's reelection campaign put $3.38 million into Facebook ads from August 10 to August 15 and Vice President Mike Pence's page spent $709,000 in the same period.

Year-to-date, Trump and Pence put a total of $53.3 million in Facebook advertising. In comparison, Biden and Harris gave the tech giant $44.32 million for ads since January 1.
