Asian markets mixed amid earnings

Equities on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Wednesday with economic data and quarterly earnings in focus. Meanwhile, United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that Beijing has to change its policies towards Uyghurs if it wants to take part in global affairs.

In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was flat at 7:32 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite gained just 0.32% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased 0.27% at 7:33 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 fell 0.32% at 7:33 am CET. The dollar was 0.12% lower against the yen, to go for ¥105.5860 at 7:32 am CET.

South Korean Kospi Composite grew 1.06% at 7:34 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.63% 7:34 am CET.
