Asian stocks mixed after service sector data |

Markets in the Asia-Pacific region were mixed on Wednesday after Chinese service sector data showed a smaller rise in activity than expected while Japan's service sector declined in July. Concerns over COVID-19 continued to impact sentiment, with new cases in the United States and Mexico surging. The Nikkei 225 lost 0.61% at 4:27 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was flat at 4:27 am CET, but the Shanghai Composite lost 0.40% at the same time. The Shenzhen Composite traded flat at 4:28 am CET as it recovered some losses from earlier in the session. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.99% at 4:29 am CET and South Korea's Kospi gained 0.74% at 2:29 am CET. The dollar went for 105.5500 against the yen, decreasing 0.16% at 4:29 am CET. |
