Asia-Pacific trades higher after RBA keeps rates |

Major stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded higher on Tuesday after the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) decided to keep its interest rates unchanged, while economic data showed inflation in the Ku-area of Tokyo was up to 0.6% in July. Traders in Asia will also monitor Sony Corporation's corporate earnings report, set to be released later in the day. The Nikkei 225 index jumped by 1.72% at 7:17 am CET. The Shanghai Composite was flat at 7:02 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index declined 0.97% at 7:18 am CET, while the Hang Seng rose by 0.83% at the same time. The Kospi gained 0.91% at 7:19 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia advanced 1.82% at 7:20 am CET. The dollar was 0.13% higher compared to the yen, going for 106.0955 at 7:21 am CET. |
