The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank further on Thursday after a flat open amid rising economic uncertainty that United States Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin addressed in an interview with CNBC. According to the country's Vice President Mike Pence, the numbers of new cases in Arizona, Florida and Texas are showing "early indications of flattening," but he went on to warn that reopening the economy will have to be done carefully.

The Dow dropped 1.94% or 508 points at 11:04 am ET, while both the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 concurrently traded in red by losing 1.55% and 0.78%, respectively.

The euro slid 0.36% against the dollar, changing hands at $1.12890 at 11:07 am ET.
