Tesla hires E.ON for energy solutions on German plant

E.ON CEO Johannes Teyssen (pictured) stated on Wednesday that the company has been hired to design the energy solutions for Tesla's upcoming Gigagfactory in Germany. "They’ve given us 18 months. And we’ll deliver," Teyssen noted.

The electric utilities company also announced its 2019 financial results, stressing its sales soared 38% to €41.48 billion, while unadjusted net income for the perios dropped 51% to €1.57 billion.

Earlier, Tesla announced it plans to build its first European Gigafactory near Berlin this year with production at the site set to start in 2021.

E.ON shares surged 7.86% at 9:23 am CET.
