Pandemic worries continue to weigh on oil prices

Oil prices fell for the fifth consecutive session on Thursday as the coronavirus outbreak continued to fuel demand concerns. The global death toll from the COVID-19 epidemic reached over 2,800 as of today, with new cases reported in Denmark and Estonia.

Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump downplayed the risks from the virus, which has rattled stock markets across the globe.

Brent futures for April delivery fell 1.44% to $52.66 a barrel at 3:25 am ET. At the same time, West Texas Intermediate for settlements in the same month sank 1.54% to $47.98 per barrel.
